Hi, my name is Simon King and I love to surround myself with yeast and bacteria. No worries, I only breed the good kinds!

When I was a kid I loved watching my dad make beer. It was magical to me. He had a little kit that he used in his garage and he took his time, measuring every single ingredient. I remember the smell of the malt and the brewing process. I’ve been in love with fermentation ever since.

When I became an adult, I started experimenting with my own foods. I started with sauerkraut and moved onto kimchi and sour pickles. I was hooked. The flavors are amazing and the fermentation process is so simple. I read everything I could get my hands on and started experimenting with different types of ferments. I think I read through every single page on the internet about fermenting. And it wasn’t enough for me.

I’ve been fermenting foods for many years now, but it’s been in the last few years that I’ve started to get more serious about it. I’ve been able to pick up lots of tricks and tips and started to look at it as a full-time career.

I’ve always had a passion for food and health and I feel like fermenting is the best way to get the most out of your food while creating something super healthy and durable. I am a huge fan of the probiotic and dietary benefits of fermented foods, and I love the taste. I’m so happy that so many people are getting into fermenting. It’s a very rewarding hobby.

I’m always looking for new things to ferment and finding new uses for the stuff you can ferment. I’ve got a pretty great blog where I post all the latest on the latest fermenting news and I’ve recently started testing and reviewing products as well. I would love to share my passion for fermenting with you. I think you’re gonna love it!
